Diesel Fuel Additive: Should You Use A Diesel Fuel Additive?

The history of diesel fuel additive dates back to World War II when America entered the war with diesel-powered vehicles. These vehicles were a boon to the military as they could go from one battlefield to another quickly and with much less fuel consumption than gas-powered vehicles.

The British and the German military also benefited from having this type of vehicle because they could rush and long distances without the fear of running out of fuel in remote areas. Many soldiers would enjoy the relative benefits of using this type of vehicle, especially during the short trips that they had to make between combat zones.

The additive was first developed for use in the United States Navy, where it was a valuable means of fighting the fire. The US Navy found that when they used it on their ships, they could reduce the amount of time it spent burning fuel, which made them more cost-effective in the long run.

They also found that their enemy vessels now had difficulty reaching them and would sometimes ram the ships and sink them. Their enemy was now defeated in fewer waters, making their subsequent wars with the Japanese much more manageable. Numerous other branches of the armed forces found that the use of the diesel fuel additive helped enhance their operation and efficiency.

After the Navy and the Air Force began to find uses for this additive, many other industries soon discovered that the grease and dirt found in the fuel systems of their equipment were what caused the additive to work so well. They began to use grease and dirt additives to increase the fuel system’s lubricity and decrease the friction caused by changing the engines’ oil. They soon learned that they could prevent engine wear and damage by adding grease additives. They soon became the go-to suppliers for grease and dirt additives and became one of the largest providers of lubricants and additives.

This recap is the history of the additive; nonetheless, why is it the most preferred by the automotive companies for car owners to utilize?
