Brake Parts That Need Your Attention The Most

The braking system of any vehicle is the most significant part of that vehicle.  The working of the brake system is quite easy yet of great significance. So when the brakes are applied by the driver, the brake system transmits the force from the driver’s foot to the car’s brake. The same force is then transmitted from the brakes to the tires and the road as the friction slows the car down. Brakes are thus the most important part of a car and their continuous usage leads to their wear and tear, which is quite common. The braking system, therefore, needs to be kept always intact and in check.

So here are the most important brake parts that need your attention the most.

  • The master cylinder

Located right in front of the driver’s seat, on the firewall in the engine, the master cylinder controls the hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic fluids. When the brakes are applied, two internal pistons move and a valve opens in the master cylinder. One important thing to note here is that, in order to get to the brake cylinders, the hydraulic fluid must pass through the valve, a chamber, and a series of tubes and horses to get to the brake cylinders. A fault in the master cylinder can lead to unresponsive or spongy brake pedals or an irregular braking system.

  • Drum brakes

The drum brakes, which are located on the rear wheels, when applied, the pressurized fluid forces its way into the wheel cylinder of the drum brakes. The brake shoes are thus pushed into contact with the inside of the brake drum and slow the vehicle down. The drum brakes need your exquisite attention as problematic drum brakes may lead to inefficiency of the parking brakes.

  • Emergency brakes

The emergency brakes are yet another significant part of the braking system that controls the rear brakes. The working of the emergency brake is simple as the steel cables connect the emergency brake to a foot pedal or a hand lever, bypassing the hydraulic system altogether. If your emergency brakes seem problematic or are not attended to, the system would not be able to hold your vehicle properly when parked. The emergency brakes are thus an important part of the braking system.

The braking system altogether needs to be kept intact in order to avoid unnecessary issues that may lead to bigger and serious problems. In this regard, you can trust Cross drilled brake parts for amazing brake functionality.
